The owner (or at least I assume he was the owner!) was funny and welcoming, super personable and offered free refills if we were still hungry. Overall a great experience and would recommend if you're around the area!

  After seeing a rating in the top 20 places in Reykjavík I thought I’d try my luck for an early dinner.

To my dismay the menu was extremely limited and contained nothing that I would consider as street food. A choice of soups, fish and chips and a couple of other dishes.

I was there now and decided to give it a try and opted for a traditional Icelandic Lamb soup. This was delivered to me in a cardboard container with a mass produced bread roll a few minutes later. I tasted and added seasoning to give more flavour.

The soup was ok, plenty of meat, but nothing of any note. I was still hungry as the portion was relatively small, definitely not worthy of the 2290 ISK price tag even as Reykjavík prices.

I finished the soup and went to pay. The gentleman behind the counter asked if I’d finished my meal and I replied yes. He passed me a chocolate bar and when I enquired why he advised that it was for people who finished their meals.

At this point I realised why this was the 15th beat rated restaurant in Reykjavík. I’m not fooled easily though and trust me, there are so many better places to eat. But a chocolate bar from a shop, eat somewhere with more choice and taste. Nice try but I’m not fooled.
